Industry and service
  • Re-scheduling of vessels and rotation changes due to weather conditions has seen delays with arrivals affecting primarily Sydney and Brisbane

  • Increases in ocean freight rates by over 400% since 2019. Current rates double of last year.

  • Port strikes in Italy, Germany, USA, South Korea as well as Black Sea trade lane interruptions continue to affect sailing schedules and carriers continue the practice of ‘rolling’ vessels to accommodate their yields.

  • The Port of Los Angeles is bracing for peak season and on-dock rail delays are at 29,000 containers of which 15,000+ have been waiting for 10 days or longer. These volumes are up by 250% against long term average.

  • Once again, empty shipping container detention in Sydney has spiked adding to delays with container deliveries and return of empty units.

  • Australian Border Force will increase surveillance of all licensed depots as they believe that criminal elements have infiltrated sections of the supply chain.

Our teams will update you on further schedule changes where possible. BSI appreciates your understanding, and we hope you remain safe during these conditions.
